ARA Asset Management - Another Privatization

Another company ARA Asset Mgmt went privatization. In recent weeks, foreign companies are looking to inject and buy out SG companies and this might start at trend for potential companies in future. My job is to uncover the potential of these companies before the buy out news takes place. It's not difficult but requires some effort and hard work. Hope to spot the next one.

ARA Asset Management founder and CEO John Lim is leading a consortium that includes Cheung Kong Property and Straits Trading Company to take the group private at $1.78 a share. Teaming up with them in the buyout are US PE firm Warburg Pincus and AVIC Trust Co, a unit of the Shanghai-listed AVIC Capital Co. ARA shares jumped 6% to a 52-week high of $1.495 in active trade on Nov 3 before the trading halt.
